Longarico Nostrale 2022 - White Wine - Sicily

Longarico's 2019 Nostrale is made from 100% Catarratto, from vines of around 15 years old planted on clayey, calcareous soils at an altitude of 350 meters. After a manual harvest in the second week of September, the grapes were destemmed and pressed in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts, without additives or temperature control, and aged on lees for seven months. The wine was then bottled without filteration and without the addition of sulfites (20mg/l) at bottling.

Located in Alcamo, the fourth largest city in the Sicilian province of Trapani, Longarico is a joint project between Luigi Stalteri Longarico and renowned winemaker Alessandro Viola. Their vineyards are located near the Bosco di Alcamo nature reserve, between 350 and 700 meters above sea level, overlooking the Freddo River valley. Here they produce several thousand bottles per year, mainly with native varieties such as Catarratto, Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mascalese, with the aim of highlighting the unique terroir of Trapani. Their artisanal winemaking methods produce exceptionally elegant wines.
