Liolà, a Sicilian DOP extra virgin olive oil from Nocellara del Belice and Moresca olives, for fish, vegetables and salads.
The olives grow on the calcareous soil of Campobello di Licata, in the province of Agrigento, and are handpicked between mid October and early November, then pressed within twelve hours so the oil keeps its bright character. Gold with green accents, it smells of green tomato and cut grass and tastes intensely fruity, with bitter and spicy notes in balance. The name is a nod to Pirandello's play Liolà.
