Caponata, the Sicilian sweet and sour vegetable dish, with peppers, olives, capers and dried tomatoes: serve it on bread.
Fratelli Burgio cook each vegetable separately and only then bring them together, so every one keeps its character. Their deli opened in the Solarino countryside in 1978 and today sits in the Ortigia market in Siracusa; no preservatives go in.
How to use it
- At room temperature, on bread.
- Alongside fish or meat.
- As part of an antipasto.
