Gentile Rigatoni is a sturdy, large type of pasta with wide ridges on the outside. The name comes from the Italian word rigato , meaning 'ridged'. Thanks to the deep ridges and spacious center, this pasta holds sauces exceptionally well. Rigatoni is therefore ideal for rich, hearty sauces such as a classic ragù, but is also delicious baked in the oven with cheese and tomato sauce.
